IMPACT OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF PUBLIC SECTOR
Our project team members, Nikoletta Karastogianni & Eirini Patsourakou, representing Region of Central Macedonia, participated on event »Digital Transformation of Public Sector Services« on June 5th and 6th at Talent Garden in Vilnius, Lithuania. The event, co-organised and co-hosted by Interreg Europe and the European Commission, was a part of the Policy Learning Platform workshop. This collaborative effort was facilitated through the connections and exchanges between DG DIGIT and the Joint Research Centre.
The workshop covered various critical topics relevant to the CROWDFUNDMATCH Project, including:
-Digitalization in Public Services: Exploring ways to modernize public sector operations.
-Importance of Interoperability: Ensuring systems can work together across borders.
-Transparency of Open Data and Security: Balancing openness with the need for robust security measures.
-Building Capacities: Addressing the challenges of enhancing public sector capabilities.
-Cross-Border Interoperability and Practices: Sharing best practices for seamless cooperation between countries.
-Sandboxing: Creating safe environments for testing new technologies.
-Innovation Labs/Hubs: Establishing spaces dedicated to technological experimentation.
-Policy Over Technology: Emphasizing the importance of policy frameworks in guiding technological implementation.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS
The event concluded with several key insights that are expected to drive future project results:
-Investment in New Technologies: The public sector should allocate resources to acquire and implement new technological products.
-Creation of Cross-Border Hubs: Establishing hubs to enhance efficiency in sharing digital techniques across borders.
-Feedback from Citizens and Employees: Incorporating feedback from the public and employees to improve the integration of new technologies into services.
