Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy, has launched a 230,000 euro call for tenders for training interventions preparatory to the gender equality certification of companies.

The call is aimed at training organisations to set up courses and targeted interventions against the gender gap in the workplace. The beneficiaries are employees of companies based in Emilia-Romagna.

Through the accredited training bodies, the Region wants to propose a training offer on the whole territory with targeted interventions against gender prejudices and stereotypes, to spread ethical principles and address issues and operating methods.

Training, to be concluded by 2025, must include in-depth studies on the cultural and regulatory aspects of gender equality, with reference to the national and European context, and the contents of the gender equality certification process.

The interventions supported must therefore be preparatory to the pathway for enterprises to obtain gender equality certification - established by the Code of Equal Opportunities between men and women, which certifies the policies and concrete measures adopted by employers to reduce the gap, and which can be recognised after an assessment of the enterprises' performance with respect to the adoption of a gender equality management system.

The Decree of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies of 18 January 2024 assigned to the Regions the resources for training activities, which for Emilia-Romagna amounted to 230,000 euro.
