Navarre will promote a diagnosis on gender equality in its industries. The initiative, part of the European DEBUTING project, was presented last Friday on January 19th at the conference 'New challenges for the wellbeing of companies', which brought together around 70 people. The initiative is open to all companies in the sector in Navarre that are interested in improving their processes for recruiting and promoting people, work-life balance and working environment, among other areas.

Gender equality influences the competitiveness of companies. Some of the benefits are a greater capacity to attract and retain talent, a qualitative increase in innovation, creativity and team productivity, as well as a substantial improvement in the working environment and in reputation and trust among clients and suppliers.

However, according to the latest available data for Navarre, women in industry account for 29% of the employees. In view of these figures, Navarre has promoted a diagnosis of gender equality among its industries and intends to involve organisations of different sectors and sizes, regardless of whether they are managed by men or women.

This initiative was presented on January 19th 2024 at the conference 'New challenges for the wellbeing of companies', which was attended by around 70 people from the business sector, professional and sectoral associations, consultants and other entities. The opening of a selection process was announced, aimed at companies in the region, especially in industry, interested in improving their processes for recruiting and promoting people, work-life balance and improving the working environment, among other areas of employment.

The proposal also forms part of the European project DEBUTING (Development Business Through Inclusiveness and Gender Awareness), which has already carried out an initial study on the situation of gender equality in Navarre's industry. A total of 364 local firms and 1,294 people took part in the analysis, including management staff (364), middle management (455) and employees (475). Its conclusions have not only revealed the data, but also the reasons why inequalities exist, the difficulties faced by organisations and the effectiveness and evaluation of the measures already adopted and which are now to be tackled through the afore mentioned diagnosis.
