Let's welcome our new DEBUTING partner, Ungheni City hall! Through participating in the project, Ungheni City aims to raise awareness about gender equality and support business development and infrastructure for innovation. DEBUTING contributes to the journey to transform Ungheni into a modern, dynamic regional leader with a sustainable economy and inclusive services for all residents.

Ungheni City is situated in the central-western part of the Republic of Moldova. Ungheni is the third-largest city in the country and an important economic center, featuring a well-developed road network and one of the largest railway hubs. It has a population of 32,379, 53.1% of whom are women. Advancing gender equality and economic growth through gender mainstreaming and creation of clusters as catalyst of economic empowerment of the community represents an important issue, as it stands out for the active involvement of women in community life. Women play a significant role in leading educational institutions, civil society organizations and managing one of the best industrial platforms in the Republic of Moldova, the Free Economic Zone "Ungheni - Business".

As a result of DEBUTING project , Ungheni City intends to update its Socio-Economic Development Strategy by mainstreaming gender equality and increase the involvement of women in the business environment through clusters. The strategy update will reflect the community's ongoing commitment to advance gender equality and sustainable competitiveness, thereby ensuring a more inclusive and prosperous business and social environment for all of the city's residents.

Ungheni City aspires to become a successful model for other regions, demonstrating how innovative and inclusive approaches can drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for all its citizens.
