Conference on climate change and urban areas in Treviso
On 16 October 2024, on occasion of the International Day for Disaster Reduction, the Province of Treviso organized a training conference on climate change, its effects on urban areas, and the strategic actions needed to mitigate them.
The conference was aimed at raising the awareness of DECA local stakeholders, municipalities and professional associations (architects, engineers and land surveyors) about best practices to protect the environment, improve air quality and promote the extension of green areas in urban centres. The main focus of the event was the call for proposals for the requalification of green areas, through which the Province allocated about 1 million euros last year to co-finance projects that involved creating new green spaces or enhancing existing ones in the municipalities.
In addition, the Silea Municipality, associated partner of the Province of Treviso, presented the DECA project, its main goals and activities.
This conference was part of the activities planned in the Interreg Europe project DECA (Delivering Effective Climate Actions), in which it is partner.
