Fourth DETOCS Stakeholder Meeting Hungary
On 13th February, the CDDA’s fourth stakeholder meeting took place at the DámPont Ecotourism Visitor Centre in Hungary. The topic of the meeting was Sustainable Tourism in the Central Danube Region.
Following the welcome speeches by Ferenc Porga, Mayor of Tamási, and Zsuzsanna Sándor-Majoros, Technical Director of CDDA Nonprofit Ltd., Eszter Mimi Kocsis, International Project Manager, presented the results of the DETOCS project to date.
Júlia Nagy, Managing Director of Innotime Hungary Kft., gave a presentation on the opportunities for sustainable tourism in Hungary, followed by a tour of the DámPont site, which was recently awarded the “Good Travel Seal” certification.
The DámPont Visitor Centre is an excellent example of how sustainability principles can be successfully integrated into practical tourism development.
An interactive workshop at the end of the day explored how sustainable tourism can help transform settlements, attractions, and accommodations into sustainable tourist destinations.
