Fifth Stakeholder Meeting in Neckar-Alb on October 7th!
The fifth German regional stakeholder meeting of Down to Earth took place at the office of the Regional Association Neckar-Alb in Mössingen (Germany) on October 7, 2024.
The aim of the meeting was to share the lessons learnt from the Study Visit to the Neckar-Alb region (which took place in June 2024) with local stakeholders, and to discuss the results of the previous analyses on the topic of “access barriers to young farmers in the Neckar-Alb region” with a larger audience.
During the first part of the meeting, the participants were informed about the status of the project with the help of a project schedule. In addition, they were given an overview of the work done in the past months.
In the second part of the meeting, the Regional Association Neckar-Alb presented the insights derived from the Study Visit to the Neckar-Alb region in June 2024. In this section, the most important activities held during the study visit were recapitulated, and the main insights were portrayed. Additionally, the findings were related to regional planning issues. In this context, the topics of climate protection and climate adaptation, nature conservation and environmental protection, renewable energies and renewable raw materials, regional value creation and regional development, modernization of farms, as well as mobility and local supply in rural areas were addressed. To promote the exchange of knowledge and experience, the stakeholders gave feedback on the issues presented with a particular focus on the approaches that they consider to be of relevance to regional planning in the Neckar-Alb region.
As part of the third part of the meeting, the Regional Association Neckar-Alb presented the results of the analyses that had been carried out in preparation for the regional report of the project's second year. In this context, the results of the agri-structural analysis, the challenges identified in connection with generational renewal, the results of the SWOT-analysis and the identified best practices were presented and discussed with the stakeholders.
The last part of the meeting served to inform the participants about the upcoming Study Visit to the Gorenkska Region in Slovenia in February 2025.
