Our project partner BSC Kranj organised their 1st Down to Earth Stakeholder Meeting in the region of Gorenjska on the 28th of September! This Regional Stakeholders Meeting served as a platform to address the critical challenges of depopulation and population aging in rural areas of the region. The meeting focused on presenting the Down to Earth partnership and discussing topic of year 1: Demographic challenges to improve resilience against environmental risks in rural areas, exploring potential solutions and emphasized the importance of collective efforts, knowledge-sharing, and sustainable investments.

The meeting saw the participation of various organisations, including representatives from Triglav National park, the Tourist Office of Bohinj and farmers. The exchange of ideas was facilitated through a SWOT analysis to thoroughly examine and discusse the challenges related to depopulation and environmental risk.

Down to Earth will take account of these discussions to develop its first thematic report, which is planned for the end of 2023.

As Down to Earth continues its mission to foster sustainable rural development, these stakeholder meetings serve as crucial forums for collaboration and exchange of ideas and ensure actual impact on rural communities.
