Spotlight UPATRAS

The University of Patras was founded in the city of Patras in 1964, and in 2013 integrated the University of Western Greece into the University of Patras. The university excels in various fields of basic and applied research and has acquired international prominence in research areas such as Health, Environment, Biotechnology, Mechanics, Electronics, Informatics and Basic Science. The University of Patras has gained a reputation for producing quality and innovative research and for participating in many research projects, scientific organizations and research groups. 

Through Down to Earth, they will work on improving the Regional Operational Program Western Greece 2021-2027, with a view to creating specific calls for projects related to the sustainable rural development.

Our partnership will travel to Western at the end of Semester 2, as part of a Study Visit linked with the theme of Year 1: Environmental risks related with depopulation and ageing population in rural areas.

The Univerisity of Patris will also organise the First Themeatic Conference of Down to Earth, which will present the main outputs and results of our project with regards to the theme of Year 1.
