EDIN project launch received vast interest in Kainuu region!
In addition to the successful kick off in the international cooperation, the project partner ELY Centre Kainuu has started local project activities by taking actions to increase visibility of the project towards the local media and stakeholders. During the first reporting period of the project, ELY Centre Kainuu published a press release that was well received by the local media.
The press release introduced the project and the digital nomad phenomenon to the local audience and described how the project’s thematic concept can be seen as a tool to increase vitality in sparsely populated regions, such as in Kainuu Finland. The press release was published by the national press release publisher STT info, and it was further published by the several municipality based and regional newspapers and the regional radio YLE.
The local interest towards the project has also been seen in the project coordinator recruitment process, since the total of 63 applicants applied for the project coordinator position!
The project coordinator will manage the project activities from October 2024 onwards.
ELY Centre Kainuu will next collect the local stakeholder group together for a mutual kick off meeting that will be held in September 2024. All eight Kainuu municipalities and the regional council of Kainuu have received a request to nominate candidates for local stakeholder cooperation.
ELY Centre will also publish an article about EDIN in the organisation’s blog, which has a wide audience throughout the region.
