Within the European Mobility Week, the Metropolitan City of Cagliari organised, on 20 September, the conference on ‘Shared spaces and urban quality’.

The day opened with institutional greetings by Metropolitan Deputy Mayor Francesco Lilliu,
and featured talks by experts in the field, such as Massimo Ciuffini, Sustainable Development Foundation, and  Ivan Blečić, Cagliari University Professor. They both focused on the challenges and opportunities of urban space use.

A speech by Giuseppe Grezzi, former Councillor for Mobility of the city of Valencia, illustrated the initiatives implemented in the Spanish city.

Finally, with Paolo Mereu, Manager of the Mobility Sector of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, discussed the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PUMS), its evolutions and progress related to the monitoring of sustainable mobility measures adopted in the territory. In this context, EMBRACER was illustrated as an example of good practice aimed at introducing innovative solutions for improving sustainable mobility, especially for interconnecting urban and rural areas.
