Poland | Polish Stakeholders United in Rzeszów
The EXPRESS project stakeholders from Poland gathered together again in Rzeszów June 28th, 2024 to discuss the progress of its implementation as well as the latest learnings.
Renewable energy transition touches many sectors of the economy and almost all areas of our lives. The housing sector is among those that requires special focus. As most of new housings are already designed to be energy efficient and with the RES installations to be included, the older ones quite often need previous complex retrofitting before being able to consider the use of RES. The situation gets even more complicated when speaking of old multi-family housings which complex renovation is necessary right away, but it is costly and requires consent of all co-owners. That is why this subject matter was brought up during the study visit in Paris which outlined the current situation of the access of RES in multi-family housings in partner regions from Italy, Finland, Romania, Croatia, Ireland, France and Hungary.
In addition to the exchange of these learnings the stakeholders also got familiarized with partial outcomes of the energy sector of the Podkarpackie Region analysis. These were as follows:
- financial and social impacts of the current operating environment of the energy sector,
- potential energy savings resulting from improved energy efficiency in the region,
- analysis of good practices in financing renewable energy,
- financing opportunities for locally produced renewable energy and its impact on the local economy.
As a follow-up, the discussion was directed to the outcomes of the current energy sector situation of the Podkarpackie Region and how it can be improved based on the EXPRESS project exchange of knowledge so far. A few ideas have been come up with but need to be taken under further scrutiny.
