On a circular economy transition context, (preventing) food waste plays a key role. Adressing the change that is needed to build a more resilient and circular context at rural and urban level it is of ultimate importance to establish links and identify differences in order to value food waste, quantifying and monitoring its environmental impact. Building upon local and european initiatives and adding value with artificial inteligence the proposed project aims at adressing food waste. In order to achieve Near-Zero food waste we propose to analyse demand – with the support of artificial intelligence – in order to reduce waste and on the other side to value the waste – namely through nature processes composting. The main purpose is to influence targeted policies that with the support of the data collected allow to quantify and create a label/certification in order to benefit the users of the tools and results of the project.
