Guldborgsund Municipality took its stakeholders through a practical tour to discuss the "missing link" in the value-chain of direct reuse of building materials in Denmark. Participants discovered the harbour in Nykøbing Falster and the upcoming projects in the new harbour district like the old Market Hall, where reusing building materials will become part of the renovation. They also went to a small demonstration-case for selective demolition.

During the meeting, participants also discussed the will to work more practical and focused cross different organizations in the region of Zealand in the areas of public tenders, educations and logistics. The municipalities can for example create solutions for the storage of building materials and investigate the digital solutions for the designers. And they can learn from each-other regarding the public tenders.

One of the conclusions was that it is necessary to acknowledge more the potential in transforming buildings and reusing materials. With this in mind, new buildings should not be planned from the desktop but should be designed from the best possibilities of reusing materials. Thus, education has a crucial role to play and should focus on the shift towards reusing materials.
