European Values Across Borders
InnoCom co-organized a panel discussion with Brct Suceava at the 2024 edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek), in a session which attracted a registered audience from 22 countries and many local, regional and European institutions.
The session entitled Resistance, Recovery, Resilience, Reinforcement: European Values Across Borders examined effects of war and the consequent disruptions in towns and regions, as well as other threats to democracy and unity, including Brexit. InnoCom partners speaking were Kieran Comerford (Carlow County Council), Chiara Dall’Aglio (Sviluppumbria) and Victoria Baltser (Voznesensk City Council).
Also on the panel were Tetiana Zbyrak, Deputy Director, Regional Development Agency of Ivano-Frankivsk region (UA), Csilla Hegedüs, Director-General, North-West Regional Development Agency (RO), Otilia Moruz, Executive Director of the Botoşani County Council (RO) and Cezar Grozavu, Executive director, Romania - Ukraine Regional Office for Cross Border Cooperation. Moderator Andy Fryers of EqualState (UK) added his reflections on the experience of having been inside the EU and now, since Brexit, being outside.
