The InnoCom Stakeholder Group for Ireland convened on January 23, 2024, at the Enterprise House on O'Brien Road in Carlow, orchestrating a dynamic and enlightening assembly that underscored the potency of collaborative efforts within our community.
Commencing the proceedings, Áine Whelan and Karen Coughlan of the Southern Regional Assembly delivered a presentation on SMART Regions & Cities, elucidating on various INTERREG Europe funded projects. The Southern Regional Assembly plays a pivotal role in connecting EU, national, and local levels in Ireland, with a primary focus on Regional Spatial and Economic Planning. It strategically manages European Regional Development Funding (ERDF) to enhance the Southern Region and its adjacent areas.

The agenda for the meeting was meticulously reviewed, and representatives from Carlow County Council, South East Technical University, and Carlow Chamber of Commerce are set to attend. This gathering presents an unparalleled opportunity for stakeholders to forge connections with international counterparts, explore potential collaborations, and glean valuable insights.

The discussions were not only illuminating but also highlighted the substantial impact that can be achieved by synergizing efforts, pooling expertise, and collectively addressing complex challenges. It reinforced the conviction that through collaborative endeavors, we can drive innovation and make a meaningful impact for the territory, its citizens and its SMEs.
