Working toward policy improvement
InnoCom is entering its third year, and partners will begin applying the lessons and inspiration from the interregional learning to their policies. During the semester, partners expect to begin implementing the integrations to improve six regional policies.
The Umbria Region, an Associated Policy Authority of InnoCom, convened a meeting with relevant staff to start the process. As the Region’s Single communication contact person for ERDF PR and ESF+, Valeria Covarelli has participated in the project’s interregional exchange meetings and study visits, as well as the local stakeholder activities.
She told her colleagues, “We have had the opportunity to learn from the project partner countries about communication models that have proven to be effective in responding to challenges similar to those faced by the Umbria Region…. the experience gained with InnoCom can impact the policy objectives of the ERDF Regional Program 2021-2027.”
Chiara Dall’Aglio of Sviluppumbria, who leads the project, said that a catalogue of good practices published on the InnoCom website will be soon available in a user-friendly format and will be shared and commented in order to gain fresh ideas on how to better reach out to our community of SMEs.
In the last two years, InnoCom partners have had the chance to learn how their peers are facing the challenges of communicating with SMEs and lowering entry barriers to opportunities. Study visits have showed us policies in action, and local stakeholders have shared their experiences with the group.
A follow-up meeting with the Umbria Region working group will be scheduled later this semester.
