The first meeting of the Local Stakeholders in Ireland
On July 5th 2024, the members of Louth County Council Stakeholders Group, that will work on the INVOLVIM project - "Informal and Voluntary Services for Work Based Immigrants" met for the first time in person. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg Europe 2021-2027 program. Local organisations who will collaborate with the Louth County Council team include:
- · Cultur Migrants Centre
- · Development Perspectives
- · SICDAS
- · Louth Sports Partnership
- · Louth & Meath Education Training Board
- · Hands4Unity
The main part of the meeting was focused on presenting the aims and the target group of the INVOLVIM project, as well as the project partners with the challenges they face. We emphasised the important role of stakeholders in the project. Each stakeholder briefly described their experiences of working with migrants on a daily basis. The stakeholders pointed out areas that require improvement in the field of providing support for immigrants, and also emphasized the importance of diagnosing needs in this area.
The INVOLVIM project aims to prevent social exclusion of migrants and families living among local communities.
A number of actions were agreed upon at the end of the meeting which will be followed up at our next meeting in September.
