Project summary
LeadEx aims to improve educational regional public policies in Europe in terms of boosting excellence of education with a special focus on vulnerable groups. Low levels of education have significant consequences for individuals and contribute to social and economic disparities within Europe. Achieving high levels of education is challenging and crucial for fostering active, responsible, and socially included citizens, as well as promoting socio-economic cohesion.
Within EU Member States and regions, there is a disparity in educational performance, opportunities, and outcomes with important social and economic consequences. Understanding the influence of socio-economic background on educational performance is vital for designing systems that can overcome these challenges.
The pandemic has also demonstrated that the effective use of digital learning tools in classrooms for teachers and students can increase student engagement, give access to more materials and tools, and create more inclusive learning environments. Furthermore, excellence in education entails ensuring that students remain in school. Therefore, policies must take a holistic approach, involving coordination among all stakeholders, including education, families, and social services. Finally, to achieve global high levels in education, it is imperative to tailor the tools and strategies to individual student performance, maximising the potential of each student.
This is why LeadEx has selected a complementary partnership with the participation of territories with different level of development: Murcia Region (Spain), EARLALL – The European Association of regional and local authorities for lifelong learning (Belgium) who will act as advisory partner, Podkarpakie Region (Poland), Central Denmark Region (Denmark), Ministry of Education (Slovenia), Center for Vocational Education in Montenegro, the Estonian Quality Agency for Education and Varaždin County (Croatia).
