From 4 till 6th of June 2024 the LEEWAY project partners and their stakeholders will meet up in the city of Roeselare (Belgium) to learn from and exchange information on experiences with RECs.

The program in Roeselare contains a mix of seminars and local visits focusing both on electricity and heat as a topic for RECs. Participants will  learn on the status and procedures of RECs in Flanders (VVSG, Fluvius) and get to know some digital tools that support energy sharing (e.g. REVOLT). Local stakeholders will present some examples of energy communities and cooperations (Sint-Niklaas, RESCOOP Vlaanderen, Beauvent). We will bring visits to MIROM to learn more about Roeselare’s district heating grid, the ASTER initiative that gives tenants access to sustainability, and Eeklo where the city approach and the citizen cooperative Ecopower will introduce their approach.

On the last day participants will engage in a workshop on how RECs can support heat transition and the challenges related.
