MAE First Stakeholders Meeting in Craiova

The South-West Oltenia Regional Development Agency, as a partner in the project MAE - Moving towards AErospace, co-funded by the Interreg Europe 2021-2027 Programme, organised the first stakeholders meeting of the project in the region on the 29th of August 2023.

The event brought together representatives of public authorities and companies from the region to discuss how they can get involved and contribute to the development of the aerospace industry.

"It was a very important event for the future of the industry, we discussed innovative solutions and technologies, new directions we need to move in, such as the transition to aerospace technologies. But for all this, we need partnerships, collaboration between higher education and academia, business, research and innovation and government. If we look at the aerospace industry, Craiova has a history in this field. We are talking mainly about the Aircraft Factory, Craiova International Airport or Traian Vuia High School, plus private companies," said Alexandru Stănescu, General Director of the South-West Oltenia RDA.

The first stakeholder meeting of the project was a good opportunity to exchange views between the relevant regional actors in this sector and to identify the main needs and directions to follow in order to increase productive activities in this area.
