The sixth Study Visit will be in Murcia, Spain
Climate adaptation is an essential element of present public policy making. The European
Green Deal aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. PROMOTER brings together 11
partners from across Europe, which face the challenge of designing and putting into action a
strategy that can help to build more climate resilient territories across the EU. The project
intends to assess the status quo in each partner territory, use interregional analysis to support
the identification of Good Practices (GP) and build capacity among public authorities and
stakeholders to cooperate for improved, multi-level governance of climate adaptation.
The 6th study visit will take place in Murcia during the days from 5 to 7 November 2024.
There are two interlinked focuses on the SV agenda – Sustainable mobility and green energy
production and sharing. The partner Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia
will ensure interregional exchange on local current knowledge and achievements by
presenting experiences like: a Municipal mobility study/ the Single Monitoring Center for
Murcia Municipality (CEUS) / Sustainable mobility innovation within a transport company
/Management of a Dynamic Tariff system/ Support centers for the promotion of energy
communities / One example of Energy Community (Bullas). On the other hand, participants will get to know better the Transport Plan of Murcia Region, which is the policy instrument to be improved in Spain with all the knowledge shared at European level.
Participants will attend field investigations in the first 2 days, the first in Murcia and the
second day in Bullas, followed by a final workshop on Day 3 where experiences presented
will be jointly reviewed and evaluated. The workshop conclusions will also mark the next
steps for Policy action identification/design/ implementation as well as an appraisal of the
progress made in documenting 36 relevant Good Practices already, and their logical
classification.
