PROXIMITIES 1st Stakeholder Group Meeting Italy

On the 1st of October, the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, the Lead Partner of the PROXIMITIES project, hosted the final Stakeholder Group Meeting of the first semester, marking a successful close to an active period of engagement. Held in Reggio Emilia, the meeting attracted 25 participants representing 16 different organisations, making it a vibrant platform for discussion and collaboration.

The meeting agenda focused on several key areas, including:

  • Reggio Emilia's vision on the City of Proximity: Exploring why the municipality is prioritizing 15-minute city and proximity approaches to enhance urban living.

  • Presentation of the PROXIMITIES project: Highlighting the project's activities and the opportunities it offers to local stakeholders.

  • Round table discussion with local stakeholders: Participants shared their activities and initiatives related to the project's themes, along with their interests and challenges within their respective sectors.

Looking ahead, the next phase of the project will involve the formation of four territorial tables, each focusing on one of Reggio Emilia's pilot areas. These sessions aim to delve deeper into the specific needs and challenges of the four peripheral areas. They will also serve as an opportunity to further integrate insights into the analysis report and support the Proximity Landscape Assessment Tool finalisation.

With the successful completion of the first semester, the PROXIMITIES project is well-positioned to continue fostering collaboration and innovation in the pursuit of more sustainable and accessible peripheral urban environments across Europe.
