Latvia hosts first PROXIMITIES Stakeholder Group Meeting

On September 20th, the Riga Planning Region held its first Local Support Group (LSG) meeting as part of the PROXIMITIES project at the Mārupe Music and Art School. The meeting brought together spatial planning specialists to discuss the project's goals, scope, and ongoing activities. A key focus was onthe pilot areas—Dārziņi and Olaine—examined through the “15-minute city” and PROXIMITIES concept, which aims to enhance residents' quality of life by improving access to essential services and community spaces within a short distance.

The meeting generated strong interest among the specialists in the project’s approach to improving service accessibility and promoting sustainable development in peripheral areas. This productive engagement sets the stage for continued collaboration with local stakeholders as the project moves forward.
