Romania hosts first PROXIMITIES Stakeholder Group Meeting
On the 20th June, the South-West Oltenia Regional Development Agency (RDA) in Romania hosted their first Regional Stakeholder Group meeting for the PROXIMITIES Project at the Novobuilding Building. This meeting brought together representatives from public institutions and key regional players to foster a collaborative dialogue aimed at peripheral urban development. The meeting served as a platform to identify needs and solutions for integrating peripheral urban areas into the centre of regional public policies, encouraging innovative strategies that engage local and regional authorities and actors.
During the meeting, stakeholders were introduced to the project's objectives, the concept of proximity, the relevant policy instruments, expected outcomes, and the Proximity Landscape Assessment Tool (PLAT). The meeting concluded with a lively discussion on the necessary measures for the sustainable territorial development of peripheral urban areas.
This first Regional Stakeholder Group meeting established a strong foundation for the PROXIMITIES Project in the South-West Oltenia Region. By facilitating the exchange of experience and know-how among key stakeholders, the project aims to discover cross-sectoral solutions that will benefit citizens and the peripheral urban region.
