1st RAW4RES stakeholders meeting in Kranj, Slovenia
BSC Business Support Centre Ltd. Kranj successfully organized their 1st stakeholder meeting on the 21st of March at the Regional Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Kranj.
The event was held in frames of the 5th Smart Communities Committee meeting, which brought together municipal officers from 6 Gorenjska municipalities, responsible for smart community projects fostering economic and transport development, environmental protection, spatial planning and cyber security, as well as key stakeholders from academia, industry representatives and business support organizations.
The focus was on presenting RAW4RES project objectives and activities, with an emphasis on activity A1.1 and the project’s Pilot Action, activities where BSC has central role.
Participants further noted that the Regional Development Plan of Gorenjska for 2021-2027 neither addresses raw materials resilience nor promotes business development within the regional raw materials value chains. In light of this, participants concluded that there is a clear imperative for initiatives and associated projects aiming at developing support mechanisms for municipalities and businesses engaged in the sustainable recovery of rare earth elements, which are essential for the production of energy-efficient and digital technologies and are obtained from the recycling of e-waste. Participants agreed to establish collaborations with strategic actors at national level.
