3rd Regional Stakeholder Group Meeting - Brindisi
On 25.07.2024 the 3rd Regional Stakeholder Group Meeting took place in the Municipality of Brindisi (Italy)
The meeting was attended by representatives from various organizations in the area, each with a focus on migrant-related activities or related themes.
The meeting aimed to gather key stakeholders to discuss project-related activities and to share impressions and information acquired from participation in the 3rd Transnational Learning Meeting combined with the Study Visits held in Brindisi (Puglia, Italy, on 05 – 06.06.2024).
Stakeholder participants highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts and shared experiences in shaping effective policies that promote social cohesion and economic empowerment for migrants and asylum seekers. The core of discussion was the need for continuous improvement and the updating of the Local Social Plan which is one of the main goals of SIRM project considered the good practices presented during the event in Brindisi.
The meeting opened an introduction of SIRM project goals and summarizing to participants the good practices presented in the 3rd Transnational Learning Meeting. After this short introduction, there was also the presentation to participants of the report on best practices prepared by the Municipality of Brindisi that opened the discussion about the issues raised by each practices.
Various good practices and models were introduced and discussed during the meeting. This discussion underscored the value of incorporating international good practices into local strategies. The stakeholders agreed that learning from such innovative models could significantly enhance the effectiveness of the Local Social Plan. By adopting similar approaches, Municipality of Brindisi can better support the social and economic integration of migrants and asylum seekers, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and harmonious society.
In conclusion, the Local Social Plan for social and work inclusion of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in Brindisi could be updated based on the best practices analyzed in Puglia and insights gained from the meeting. The stakeholders expressed a commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring that the plan remains responsive to the evolving needs of the migrants together with the willing to be posted about project developments.
