On 27 August 2024, the 3rd Regional Stakeholder Group Meeting of stakeholders who are directly involved in addressing migrant and refugee issues within the SIRM project took place. This time, the meeting aimed to develop measures and actions aimed at increasing the integration of migrants and refugees into our society in order to make their stay there as pleasant as possible.

The meeting started by reminding those present about the theme of the SIRM project and the conclusions and themes of the previous meetings, as well as the experiences and examples of good practices from the Transnational Learning Meeting in Italy, and the bilateral meeting in Ireland.

The discussion then touched on topics including the needs and problems faced by migrants and refugees since their arrival in the country. Attention was also given to how the problems faced by refugees are changing, from the provision of accommodation, adequate health care, education and employment to developing measures to integrate into our society.

Another subject was the importance of identifying resources for Ukrainian refugees in the form of scholarships and education and other activities that will increase their chances of integration.

The conversation also touched on the importance of working with faculties in Ukraine to provide better conditions for their students upon arrival in Croatia and to facilitate their transition and studies, as well as the importance of integrating migrants and refugees into our society in the context of the lack of a domestic workforce and the importance of working with employers to identify their needs and solve the problems they face.
