A Transnational Learning Meeting was held on 5 and 6 June 2024.

This two-day event brought together SIRM partners and stakeholders to exchange best practices on adaptation and assimilation programmes and counteracting social isolation of migrants, including information, psychological, linguistic, cultural, educational and social support.

The first day of the meeting took place at the historic Palazzo Granafei-Nervegna in Brindisi. The event commenced with a presentation by Dr. Davide Di Muri from ARCI Brindisi and was followed by by the introduction of ten innovative best practices from Italy, Ireland, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Croatia, and Latvia. After a light lunch offered in the courtyard, Professor Florian Noseleit, from the University of Groningen conducted an interactive workshop open to all attendees.

On the second day, SIRM partners and stakeholders explored innovative social inclusion and integration initiatives in Bari. Firstly, they visited Casa delle Culture, a multipurpose center promoted by the Welfare Department of the Municipality of Bari and managed by social cooperatives Medtraining and San Giovanni di Dio.

Then, partners visited Villa Artemisia. Originally a mafia stronghold, Villa Artemisia was transformed by the CAPS social cooperative into a therapeutic community for young women with children. It now hosts the "Artemisia Academy," an innovative residential and social-tourism model providing a fresh start for young adults, including former unaccompanied foreign minors, and offering hospitality services.
