OCMP Supporting Entrepreneurship among Migrants and Refugees

The next OCMP meeting (Observatory of Current Migration Problems) was held on 17 February 2025. The topic of this event was “Supporting Entrepreneurship among Migrants and Refugees”. The meeting was organised by the University of Groningen and was held in an online format.

The main topic of this meeting was programmes to support entrepreneurship among refugees and migrants. Specific issues were addressed:

- Supporting Migrant and Refugee Entrepreneurs - the importance of entrepreneurship in integration and the barriers that limit it

- Best Practices and Support Programmes - examples of supporting entrepreneurship among migrants and refugees and demonstrating the importance of such support

- Discussion on Policy Instrument Changes - addressed solutions and practices in different countries and regions. The discussion included, among other things, the identification of elements in need of change and those that are fulfilling their purpose.

The meeting was an important element of the project and contributed to a better understanding of the challenges and problems among refugees and migrants. The project partners attending the meeting received important information that will help in the further implementation of the project.
