The Office de Tourisme et des Congrès d'Amiens Métropole held its first Regional Stakeholders Group meeting as part of the SlowDown project, bringing together local partners to strengthen sustainable tourism initiatives in the region.

This inaugural meeting introduced innovative projects and strategies aligned with sustainable tourism goals. Among the highlights was the presentation of a carbon footprint calculator developed in collaboration with Rhapsodies Conseil, designed to promote eco-friendly stays and showcase Amiens’ efforts in sustainability. Additionally, details were shared on Amiens Métropole’s partnership with Mégacité Amiens to achieve the Sustainable and Innovative Destination label, a project spearheaded by France Congrès et Evénements.

The meeting demonstrated Amiens Métropole’s strong commitment to incorporating sustainable development principles into its tourism strategy. By prioritising collaboration and innovation, these efforts align seamlessly with the SlowDown project’s overarching goal: to foster meaningful, slow tourism practices across Europe.

This first step sets the stage for continued cooperation, ensuring that Amiens contributes actively to shaping the future of sustainable tourism under the SlowDown framework.
