Project summary
As Europe strives to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, there is a strong need to improve policy frameworks for more sustainable and resilient communities. SPARK project is focused on sustainable urban mobility for a zero-carbon economy in EU regions and aims to strategically enhance local policies for urban mobility through smart planning and agile solutions aligned with EU sustainability goals. The project embodies good practices, transferability knowledge, and intelligent solutions needed to create sustainable urban environments.
The primary focus of SPARK is to enhancing regional policies for greenhouse gas emissions by promoting intelligent public transportation, optimizing traffic flow, encouraging the use of bicycles and walking, developing smart city infrastructures and green transportation modes. By designing new and robust adaptive urban mobility initiatives, SPARK seeks to reduce carbon footprints and promote environmental sustainability, contributing to a greener, healthier, and smarter Europe.
SPARK perfectly aligns with the PO 1: A Smarter Europe, PO 2: A Greener Europe, PO 3: A More Connected Europe, PO 5: A Europe Closer to Citizens, and additionally, PO 4: A More Social Europe. The project also aligns with the European Green Deal, contributing to sustainability goals and the Paris Agreement. By integrating advanced methodologies, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics, SPARK ensures regional mobility frameworks are updated, improved and future-ready.
Through strategic planning and policy improvement, SPARK contributes to a greener, healthier, and smarter EU, supporting sustainable economic growth and the EU's climate-neutral action plan. By fostering knowledge transfer and best practices, SPARK also ensures scalability and replicability across diverse EU regions, making it a benchmark for future mobility projects and robustly contributing to the EU's Green Deal and Cohesion Policy.
