On May 14, Tallinn hosted the Tourism in Balance project local stakeholder group meeting, uniting key figures to discuss the future of regional tourism. This hybrid event, held at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications seminar room and online, showcased an inclusive approach.

Simone Moretti from Breda University began with an insightful presentation on destination status quo reports by project partners, followed by a dynamic Q&A session and engaging discussions, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.

Kaie Tropp, the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s project manager, shared insights from the recent Rome session, highlighting key exchanges among partners.

Key issues in Tallinn's tourism sector were then discussed. A representative from the Estonian Travel Industry Association provided perspectives on cruise tourism for the current season and beyond, outlining strategies for effective tourist distribution.

Crucial topics included the impact of infrastructure projects on tourist logistics, regulation of short-term rentals in the Old Town, and challenges related to tourist mobility and transportation.

The meeting concluded with a preview of the upcoming Internal Learning session in Tallinn from June 4-6, aiming to further productive dialogue and efforts for sustainable tourism development in the region.
