TOURBO for sustainable and digital tourism in Bremerhaven
The Interreg Europe project TOURBO illustrates the industry's committed approach to combining sustainable practices and the potential of digitalisation to shape a future-proof sector. TOURBO aims to support Bremerhaven's tourism concept with numerous tourism partners.
The Interreg Europe project TOURBO lays the concrete foundation for the continuation of the Tourism Concept 2025, which was adopted in June 2018. Sustainability and digitalisation are to form the framework for all future measures. Both topics have increasingly proven their necessity in recent years. "We are thus leading Bremerhaven's tourism into the 21st century," says André Lomsky, Managing Director of Erlebnis Bremerhaven GmbH. The aim of the project is to promote the economic development of the participating cities and regions.
On 22 August, the stakeholders met at a local kick-off event. The committed stakeholders include, the Bremerhaven Society for Investment Promotion and Urban Development, the Department for Economy, Tourism and Science, the Climate City Office, the Climate Workshop City, the German Hotel and Restaurant Association as well as the tourism service providers from Bremerhaven.
Partner countries for the Interreg Europe project TOURBO are Germany, Ireland, Finland, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Bulgaria and Spain. The project was launched in June 2023 with a kick-off meeting in Seville, Spain, and is scheduled to run until 31 December 2027.
