PMG 4 AND STUDY VISIT, 22. 10. 2024, PAMPLONA, SPAIN
4th PMG meeting and study visit were hosted by our partners from Navarra Government in the city of Pamplona, Spain.
The day was divided in two. First half was dedicated on project implementation. Partners discussed completed and upcoming activities and urgent tasks.
Each partner needs to submit one best practice to the advisory partner, which afterwards will be introduced to INTERREG EUROPE for review and publishing. The good practice of Burgas related to city’s public transport has already been approved and published (https://www.interregeurope.eu/zci/good-practices) and the ones of Kronoberg and Gorenjske are under review. All good practices will be promoted on project website in social media.
Emphasize was put on Exchange of Experience activities, Policy Improvement workplans and Study Visits programme organisation. Partners are actively communication between each other planning on-line meetings and visits according to their common interests and needs.
The second half of the day was dedicated to existing good practices related to electric mobility in Pamplona.
1. EV charging city platform https://navarraterecarga.com/ provides in a user friendly manner all necessary information and services to its users related to charging electric vehicles.
2. Ride On Pamplona (https://rideonpamplona.com/en/) is the only fleet in Spain with 100% electric bikes. Мore than 400 vehicles and 42 charging stations are available for use and 20 more to come. It has more than 75000 registered users, 48000 active users, more than 5000 annual memberships and very good feedback from customers.
To avoid vandalism, smart locks were introduced and each user should manually take/ return a bike to a station in order to use it. All stations are under constant video surveillance.
3. Public transport – Pamplona is serviced by 150 buses, 32 of which are electric. The city is planning to reorganize its transport scheme by introducing BRT corridors and gradually replace aging buses with electric ones. In 2025 the anaerobic installation of Pamplona will provide methane for methane buses, which will significantly optimize costs and support sustainability.
