On the 14th and 15th of May, the third study visit within the CARES project took place, hosted by The Research and Development Center in Linköping, Sweden. This visit provided another opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experiences among project partners and stakeholders in the field of telecare and telemedicine. This time, participants delved into the details of the Swedish care system's operation and challenges.

During the two-day event, attendees had the chance to learn about four good practices from the Östergötland region:

  1. BEATA - a system ensuring the safety of residents in care homes in Linköping. This technical solution monitors and alerts staff when a care recipient is in a risky situation, requiring assistance. Individual adjustments can be made based on the recipient's status and needs.
  2. Welfare Technology Library - a collection of solutions aimed at preventive measures, enhancing knowledge, and promoting the use of technology among social care workers. Through this, workers assist the elderly in adapting to new technologies in their homes, designed to aid them in daily life.

  3. EVIKOMP - a competence development model for social care professionals utilizing workplace learning. Training occurs concurrently for the entire work group, featuring an e-learning platform with co-created materials, teacher support, and leadership training in workplace learning. The goal is to promote, facilitate, and ensure workplace learning and exchanges among professionals.
