The Finnish project partners of CIBUS, Regional Council of Häme and Häme University of Applied Sciences, organised the first stakeholder meeting on 16 September in Hämeenlinna, Finland. Participants represented research organisations and circular economy organisations in Kanta-Häme region.

The focus of the first meeting was to gain insight into the state of food loss and waste in Kanta-Häme and present the CIBUS project to stakeholders. Discussion touched upon the national and EU regulation regarding food loss and waste as well as existing research on the topic. During the workshop part of the meeting, stakeholders considered how significant different stages of the food chain are in terms of generating food loss and waste, and identified past activities for reducing food loss and waste in the region.
