The 2nd Regional Stakeholder Meeting for the FEEL Project (Frugal cities through Energy Efficiency and Low-tech communities) was held on the 14th of February in Cork City Hall. Stakeholders from the organisation discussed the different project and their associated objectives across different departments identifying where crossover and synergies appeared in project objectives. The Environmental Department is involved with another Interreg Europe Project called Zero Carbon Infrastructure (ZCI) which is improving policy supports for increased electric charging stations in Cork. The aims of the FEEL Project intersect the ZCI Project on influencing consumer behaviour, urban mobility services and strengthening local involvement in policy improvement. The attendees also heard about an innovative approach to heating a home by using solar power and a slow-release storage system cutting carbon to near zero, improving efficiency and cutting running costs.
