Studies have shown that frequent walks in the forest can greatly benefit our well-being. Interacting with trees and plants can help reduce stress, enhance sleep, and boost the immune system. Moreover, the forest serves as a natural storehouse of medicinal plants.

The Marshal’s Office of Podkarpackie Region collaborated with the Polish Forest Bathing Association and the "Zimowit" Sanatorium and Spa Hospital to launch an awareness campaign introducing citizens to forest bathing and its positive effects on physical and mental well-being.The initiative stemmed from our GREENHEALTH project, which focuses on enhancing the connection between biodiversity protection and promoting human health and well-being.

In June 2024, across three meetings, 39 spa patients were able to engage in customised actions.
These activities aimed to educate them on the theory and principles of forest bathing, scientific studies regarding the impact of forest bathing on human health, the significance of local trees and medicinal plants, as well as their interconnection with different species.

A field workshop took place in the charming setting of Rymanowo Zdrój. Ms. Paulina Patro, a member of the Polish Forest Bathing Association and a certified trainer in rest and mental resilience, led the event. She shared the wonders of the forest with the participants, guiding them on how to connect with nature mindfully. Strolling through the forest trails, attendees enjoyed relaxation, uplifted moods, and boosted their immune systems.
