GreenSPAS 1st Interregional Workshop
On July 3, 2024, the GreenSPAS project hosted its first Interregional Thematic Workshop online. This meeting brought together partners and stakeholders to showcase their policy instruments and discuss sustainable development strategies and regional cooperation efforts.
Moderated by Simone Zagrodnik, Executive Director of the advisory partner EHTTA, the workshop began with an introduction to set the stage for the day's presentations. Following this, partners took turns presenting their respective policy instruments, highlighting the diverse approaches and strategies being employed across different regions, as follows:
- Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region & Route des Villes d’Eaux du Massif Central Association: Overview of the regional development and sustainability program.
- City of Montegrotto Terme: Geothermal strategy and climate adaptation measures.
- Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship: Utilization of European funds for regional climate adaptation and energy efficiency.
- City of Baden bei Wien: Climate and energy spatial planning initiatives.
- City of Birštonas & Public Institution Lithuanian Innovation Centre: Strategic development plan focusing on sustainability.
The workshop featured not only individual presentations but also lively discussions, fostering the exchange of insights and feedback among participants.
Towards the end, Fabien Jean, the EHTTA intern working on the GreenSPAS Project, presented his research on developing a matrix of various policy instruments, strategies, and methodologies for data collection and processing.
Additionally, partners were introduced to the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform, gaining insights into its functionalities, benefits, and upcoming workshops relevant to the GreenSPAS project.
The GreenSPAS Interregional Workshop marked a significant milestone in advancing sustainable development and regional cooperation among the project’s partners. The shared knowledge and collaborative spirit set a solid foundation for future endeavors.
