What can temporary uses offer to prototype long-term strategic programs that will not exclude population groups and reduce economic, social, and digital inequalities rather than increase them?

“Urban regenerations: temporary uses for a participatory and inclusive transition” is the title of the panel curated by the IMPETUS project together with the Horizon 2020 project T-Factor for Many Possible Cities, the Festival of Urban Regeneration curated by LAMA Impresa Sociale, which took place from 28th to 30th September in Florence, Italy.

The event presented European, national, and regional policies and case studies, with a rich line-up of guests that included representatives from European organizations like Plateau Urbain in France, Perspective Brussels, and ZwischenZeitZentrale in Bremen. In this discussion, IMPETUS brought the experiences of some Tuscan public administrations regarding practices and policies adopted by cities and territories, through the interventions of Aldo Ianniello (Director of Urban Planning of the Tuscany Region) Valerio Barberis (Town Planning Councillor of the Municipality of Prato) Silvia Viviani (Town Planning Councillor of the Municipality of Livorno) and Andrea Benini (Mayor of Follonica).

Here is the recording of the talk. The video is in Italian but it’s possible to select the subtitled translation language from the YouTube video settings.
