Fourth stakeholder meeting in Jelgava municipality
On 27 February, the fourth stakeholders`group meeting of the "InterRevita" project took place, during which participants explored new ways of using vacant buildings and spaces owned by Jelgava Local Municipality.
Under the guidance of project expert and moderator Āris Ādlers, four working groups selected four out of nine shortlisted properties and proposed five possible uses for each of them. Others then voted on what they considered to be the best option. For example, the former clinic in Eleja was suggested to transform into a rental apartment building, the “Artūri” property in Vilce for a mental health studio, and the granary of Lielplatone Manor for a cultural events and artist residence.
As part of the event, project manager Anita Škutāne presented the "InterRevita" project revitalization policy recommendations and examples of best practices from project partners.
An inspiring example of revitalization of a former school building into a business-friendly space was shared by Ilze Tomanoviča-Barone, Communication Specialist at Saldus Local Municipality. The former Sātiņi Primary School has been transformed into "Sātiņi Workshop" - a hub for small entrepreneurs, suitable for small-scale production facilities, offices, and service providers.
Thank you to all participants for your creative approach to idea generation!
