On June 27, 2024, at the Territory and Infrastructures Arena of the Research To Business Fair, the Emilia-Romagna Region promoted a workshop dedicated to the creation of the new Social Research and Innovation HUB. The event featured representatives from municipalities, business associations, and public sector innovation policies, united in the ambitious goal of promoting innovative practices in response to contemporary social challenges. This meeting was crucial for co-constructing strategies and initiatives that position social innovation as a central pillar in the regional research and innovation policies aimed at social impact.

The focus of the workshop was the presentation of the results of the co-design process initiated for the establishment of the HUB, the proposed strategic directions, and intervention areas. The active participation of social innovation ecosystem actors broadened the dialogue and increased participation, contributing to the development of a common and shared manifesto.

During the meeting, the Interreg Europe project, NOTRE – Novel methods improving production innovation potential with examples of senior care-related solutions, of which CNA Emilia-Romagna is a partner, was presented. This project garnered considerable interest within the Emilia-Romagna Region's ecosystem, thanks to stimulating meetings and insights from interactions with local stakeholders. This dynamic inaugurated a new paradigm in the approach to social innovation, facilitating connections between different actors to promote new collaborations and constructive synergies.

The discussions explored the potential of the Social Research and Innovation HUB as a driver of positive change in the regional context, emphasizing the importance of creating synergies between various actors, and consolidating a collaborative network capable of generating significant and sustainable social impacts over time. In conclusion, the workshop represented a significant step towards the realization of an innovative and inclusive ecosystem, where research and social innovation integrate to address emerging challenges with creative and sustainable solutions.
