Climate adaptation is an essential element of current day public policy making. The European Green Deal aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. PROMOTER brings together 11 partners from across Europe, which face the challenge of designing and putting into action a strategy that can help to build more climate resilient territories across the EU. The project intends to assess the status quo in each partner territory, use interregional analysis to support the identification of Good Practices (GP) and build capacity among public authorities and stakeholders to cooperate for improved, multi-level governance of climate adaptation.

The 3 rd study visit will take place in one of the Baltic states, Latvia in the days 9 to 11 July 2024. There are two focuses on the agenda – Green mobility and green energy. Rezekne City Municipality will ensure interregional exchange on knowledge how to monitor consumed energy in public buildings in a smart way and use data analyzed for future decisions and sustainable building management. Partners will discover benefits of implemented projects in Rezekne city related to renewable energy sources and assess to which extent local GPs could be impactful, relevant and transferable to territories represented in this project.

The ecological crisis has turned the attention to the need for greater socially responsible behavior from the private and the public sector. The energy community starts already in childhood based on zero waste habits and green lifestyle. Participants will interact in workshop, field investigations, simulation game to learn more about systemic behavioral approach, which moves a local community step by step to preserving nature values, ecosystem services and biodiversity.
