On August 29th, 2023, the first meeting of the group of local stakeholders for the Attica region of the  “SKYLA - Smart Specialisation Skills Ecosystems for the Twin Transition” project took place at the facilities of the Regional Development Fund of Attica (RDFA), in Athens.

This first regional meeting with the stakeholder group of RDFA had as main purposes to present the SKYLA project to the group of stakeholders, to initiate and establish an effective communication and collaboration framework between RDFA and the group of local stakeholders aiming at defining the best action plan possible (with a real impact on the effectiveness of the regional policy instrument), as well as sharing ideas and collecting input and good practices from those key players in defining the action plan. Participants included representatives from the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce Industry, the Federation of Hellenic ICT Enterprises Digital Europe and the Innovation Centre of Attica Region.

All participants expressed their commitment to collaborate with RDFA in the implementation of the SKYLA project, the exchange of knowledge and sharing of experiences and best practices. The meeting also highlighted revealed the following topics, as of high potential and demand for reskilling/upskilling initiatives: AI related technologies & applications; Compliance to ESG Criteria & reports and Cybersecurity.

As a first next step, all participants agreed to schedule follow-up 1-1 work meetings between RDFA and each stakeholder, before the next partners’ meeting of the project in November and right after that to have the next Stakeholders Group Meeting (of the 2nd semester).
