The Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, for the economic development which is the common mission of all its members, directs and conducts its activities by representing the general interests of the economy and all economic entities, enabling companies to participate in managing the economy and thus preserve their freedom, encouraging production in the economy and presenting business opportunities in foreign countries while fostering business ethics and practices.

Regarding the Education and Quality Management Department, and priorities within, The Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, through the institution of social partnership with the Government of Montenegro, has a significant role in the reform of the educational system in Montenegro. Beside its involvement in the implementation of several international EU funded projects as the supporting role for the Projects Department, The Education and quality Management Department is also very involved in the development and implementation of national policies covering the formal and informal education in Montenegro, especially in the development and implementation of VET education and projects regarding it. Also with the goal to improve the continuous education of employees, because their knowledge enables them to be more efficient and productive, thus strengthening the competitiveness of the economy, the Chamber organizes a series of seminars in the fields of finance, management, marketing, business communications, sales, project management and human resource management, which are available to the employees of its members and offer the latest knowledge and possibility to acquire skills in the areas they are interested in.

Why join SKYLA as a discovery partner?

Vuko Jovanović, Advisor in the Education and Quality Management Department, represents the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro as SKYLA Discovery partner.  According to Mr Jovanović, the fact that Montenegro as a country for the first time has the possibility to be involved in the Interreg Europe program, and that the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro has been recognized as an organization that should be involved, is of great importance.

"Knowledge and experiences which are to be gained from the partner countries on this project, which has an already well established educational system, will help us a great deal in the improvement of our own knowledge in this area. It will also serve as an opportunity to share good practices with decision-makers and strive towards applying to our own system that which is possible. Beyond that, with involvement in this project, we are elevating the capacities of the Chamber which already plays a great role in the process of lifelong learning as well as the entire formal education and plays a role of a bridge between the educational institutions and the private sector.

Montenegro, in the past few years, is facing with an ever-changing labour market and the need for skilled workforce is ever growing stronger. Due to fast-paced changes in our labour market, it has become challenging to adequately predict the skills trend as well as provide the necessary workforce that is well-trained and with the needed skill set to answer the market demands. This is why we are constantly working on improving cooperation and links between the economy and the VET providers. SKYLA project has these issues at the core of its objectives and as such is a great opportunity for us to exchange experiences and gather knowledge that might help us with the further development and improvement of our mechanisms to face these challenges"
