4th Interregional meeting - Savonlinna, Finland

Project SMEOrigin 4th Interregional Partnership Meeting will take place on 3 - 5.9.2024 in the Lake Saimaa region, Finland. The meeting will be hosted by the City of Savonlinna. 

During the 4th Interregional Meeting, participants will have opportunity to learn about the industry around lake fish on Lake Saimaa and endeavours related to the promotion of local food. Also, South Savo Food Cluster will present the innovation ecosystem for food. The “Challenges and Opportunities with Local Food” seminar will be a possibility to reflect on the SMEOrigin themes related to distribution, branding, and quality and the role of food in the regional development policies and tourism strategies. The group will have opportunity to participate in the national Finnish Food Day local event to meet local producers. Finally, the project partners will have an opportunity to reflect together with Finnish experts and stakeholders on the potential of new PGI products. For those wishing to arrive early or delay the departure, we are willing to give recommendations for things to do.
