First Stakeholder meeting for Mechelen!
The city of Mechelen started since the signing of the covenant on sustainable city logistics in September 2020, with the organisation of a zero emission working group. It enables the City of Mechelen to engage in structural consultation with the logistics sector, traders and interest groups. It officialises and structures the contacts. The intention is to meet at least twice a year and more if necessary. In this way, a logistics network can be built. Within the working group, the intention is to inform each other, consult together and come to concrete decisions.
On the 10th of October 2023, the city organised the eight edition of the zero emission working group within the scope of the Interreg Europe project called SPOTLOG.
The agenda was as follows:
• Welcome & introduction by new alderman for mobility Pia Indigne
• New covenant participants sign the covenant
• Explanation by Stéphane Jacobs, Transition Manager Clean Power for Transport at Flemish government, dept mobility and public works "The transition of freight transport and its complementarity with other modes of transport and urban logistics"
• status of ongoing projects
• presentation & short workshop on dynamic pricing
• conclusion & lunch
