SPOTLOG 2nd Regional Stakeholder Group Meeting in București!
The 2nd Regional Stakeholder Group Meeting on Projects and Solutions for Sustainable and Green Urban Mobility in Support of City Logistics took place on November 23rd, 2023, at Bucharest Politehnica University, hosted by Smart Cities of Romania Cluster, as a splinter panel of the ninth edition of the SCoR Conference.
The organizers, SCoR Cluster and Constanța Metropolitan Area Intercommunity Development Association (ZMC), presented the SPOTLOG project, its concept and objectives to the 18 in person 13 online participants representing authorities, NGOs and industry.
The presentation focused on the Constanta SUMP: its implementation status, current provisions and challenges related to logistics activities and upgrade proposals.The SUMP upgrade process was presented also in the context of the changes in the legal framework.
Representatives of the MDLPA (Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration) from the Directorate in charge with Interreg programs have presented to the participants relevant information on the programs framework, platform, tools and opportunities.
The President of the Romanian Authority for Railway Reform presented the program for metropolitan railway transport development and potential impact on urban logistics.
The representative of ADRBI (Bucharest – Ilfov Regional Development Authority) shared information and experience from their activity, especially related to the Interreg Embracer project.
Two stakeholders, UEFISCDI (The Executive Unit for the Financing of Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation) and UPB (National University for Science and Technology POLITEHNICA) have presented their activity and the projects they coordinate in the framework of the EU Mission 100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities: CapaCities and respectively NetZeroCities.
The representative of two NGOs, ARMS (Romanian Association for Sustainable Mobility) and ACS (The Association for Sustainable Fuels) has presented their activities, current projects and potential solutions in support of urban logistics.
The representative of ICEBERG+ has presented the company activity as a competence hub for the EIT4Urban Mobility initiative and the coordinator of RIS Hub Romania consortium.
The representative of MSP (Magurele Science Park Association) presented the community development activities of the organization as well as the COSME SME4Green project they are currently developing and that can provide opportunities for partnership with two companies with extensive experience in innovative projects.
Beia and SIMAVI have presented their portfolio of R&D projects and solutions relevant to the subject in discussion.
The organizers, speakers and participants exchanged views and experience in the development of policies and solutions in support of sustainable and smart cities and expressed the interest to contribute to the development of SPOTLOG as stakeholders.
