Project summary
The proposed project concerns the support of businesses (not only SMEs but also micro-businesses) in matters of succession/transfer through the enhancement of the upgraded knowledge of those involved in the succession process. Business succession is one of the most critical issues and a key point in the life cycle of a business at the microeconomic level, but also a practice that can contribute to the survival of business activity at a macroeconomic level, as it involves maintaining the existing number of companies and work positions with a perspective of modernizing them under the successor state. The project, taking into account the need to diversify existing SMEs support programmes, aims to create a pillar of support for existing businesses that balances the respective supports for start-ups and does not exclude innovation. More specifically, the aim of the proposed project is to create a support pillar for existing businesses in matters of succession/transfer through actions related to strengthening the skills of successors, professionals supporting the succession process (e.g., mediators, mentors, consultants), stakeholders, professional representatives and other bodies that promote and support the issue of succession/transfer, while promoting institutional proposals for the integration of succession skills acquisition in a formal or non-formal system of learning through educational protocols, learning platforms, certification systems, registers certification, etc. In this context, the project proposes actions to strengthen the soft and digital skills of successors, succession service support professionals, mediators, advisors, mentors, stakeholders, representatives of agencies dealing with the issue of succession/transfer.
